Bios

Mrs. Ruth Pierce

Mrs. Pierce is a retired nurse and founder of The Black Diabetic Foundation.

Mrs. Denine Rogers, RD, LD

Mrs. Rogers is the Secretary for the National Organization of Blacks in Dietetics and Nutrition. She is also the owner of a Integrative Health Consulting practice called HEPSA Living Healthy (www.livinghealthy1.org). Her passion with her consulting practice is to bridge the gap of Complementary and Alternative Medicine with Allopathic Medicine along with Cultural and Diversity practices.  Mrs. Rogers finished her roles as the Chairperson for the African American Committee Interest Group of the American Association of Diabetes Educators, Diversity Leader and Mentor for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, FACE for Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for 2012-2013, Diversity Chair for Georgia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a Nutritional Consultant for Fuel Up to Play 60 program.  Currently, she is working as a Nutritional Consultant for Wellpoint.
